Mio DigiWalker™ C310x Map Update - FAQ
Q1. I have multiple C310x devices. Do I have to buy a DVD for each one?
A1. Yes. Each map update DVD comes with a unique Serial Number (SN). You need a unique DVD SN for each unique device SN. By the end of the process we would have saved all your Serial Numbers in your account record (under “My Account” on the map update page). Our Tech Support will also have a copy of these SNs.
Q2. How long will it take to receive my DVD after I order it?
A2. We ship via Fed Ex (3-Day service) when you provide a full address (Fed Ex does not deliver to PO Boxes) and phone number during the ordering process. For all Fed Ex shipments a tracking number is available. Otherwise we use First Class USPS mail which takes 3-5 days and does not have a tracking number. The same shipping and handling charge applies to both methods.
Q3. Is your eStore secure, to protect my personal information?
A3. Yes. We have secured an SSL certificate, a type of electronic encryption key which will protect your personal information during the transaction. Your credit card information is not stored, only your contact information is stored for the purpose of shipping the DVD.
Q4. Will I be able to revert back to my old device settings if I don’t like this map update?
A4. Not easily. The “map update” also includes a firmware & software update (required for the map update to work). If for some reason you wish to change back, we would have to ask you to mail your device to us for reverting back to your previous firmware & software versions.
Q5. What is actually updated by this “map update”?
A5. This map update includes fresher data for greater accuracy, and
richer content for a better user experience. It includes every road
in the U.S. as an inter-connected fully navigable road network,
over 300 million addresses covering over 97% of the U.S. population,
an address match rate of 95%, as well as 1.5 million points of interest.
This version has improved road position accuracy for better map
display, has added new or corrected one-way streets and more highway exit points for improved
driving directions.
There are more back roads for more routing
options, and better over-all address match
rates to help you find all the places you want to go.
NOTE: We had to remove
some POIs (points of interest – “yellow pages”
information) to make room for this additional map data for improved
navigation. You now have 1.5 million POIs where previously you had
3.5 million. All the data still fits inside the 1GB of memory space
of your device.
NOTE: The MioMap software cannot read additional POIs from an external SD card.
Q6. Will this C310x Map Update DVD be available for sale in a retail store?
A6. Yes. The C310x Map Update DVD is now available for $14.95 at Circuit City stores nation-wide.
Q7. I tried to buy a DVD, and my credit card information did not go through. Who do I contact about billing issues?

NOTE: Your credit card will be billed upon shipment of your DVD order. You will not be billed if your card was “declined” or “rejected” for any reason.
Q8. Will I get a confirmation email?
A8. Yes. You will receive two confirmation emails. The first will confirm your order, the second email will contain your activation code (tied to your device only). The emails will contain critical information that will be required for activation, and that you will want to keep on file. Please make sure you provide the correct email. |
